SOLAR (acronym for Sound of Los Angeles Records) was an American record label founded in 1977 that knows a huge success in the early and mid 80's.
Groups like Midnight Star, The Whispers, Shalamar, Lakeside, Carrie Lucas, etc.. were in this label.
The founders were Dick Griffey and Don Cornelius, being the last one worldwide known by his job as "SOUL TRAIN" television show host.
